Maggie, a five-year-old street dog who was found in Lebanon, didn’t seem like she would live. She was in a terrible state. The unfortunate dog had her ear chopped off, her jaw fractured, and was shot mind-boggling 17 times with an air pistol, including her eyes, which rendered her blind.
She was left on the streets when pregnant, bound to a box, and abandoned. Only a miracle, it seemed, could have kept Maggie alive. The animal welfare organization Wild At Heart Foundation was that miracle.
Maggie was saved by the group, who cared for her until her recent adoption.
Maggie not only managed to find her forever home, but she is also currently employed as a therapy dog with a sizable Instagram following.
For a dog who was close to passing away, it was a remarkable return
Kasey Carlin of Brighton, a dog enthusiast, had learned about Maggie’s tale months before thanks to the Wild At Heart Foundation. On social media, a guy from Lebanon asked for assistance for Maggie. In Beirut, he received immediate care for the canine. After seeing the message, woman in London made an effort to assist the dog.\
Even though it’s challenging to transfer animals out of Lebanon, Kasey noted that the charity was willing to take Maggie in. After seeing the advertisement, Kasey’s mom decided to foster the puppy.
Kasey decided to foster Maggie after she showed him the picture.
But before Maggie could leave Lebanon, she had to have surgery. Kasey and her mother learned more about the extent of the dog’s wounds. In order to stop additional harm, the dog’s eyes also needed to be permanently stitched together.
Maggie was eventually permitted to travel to the UK to meet her adoring new family once she had fully recovered.
When Kasey first saw Maggie at the airport, she started crying. She sought assistance for the dog by getting in touch with blind dog organisations. The charities suggested that she lay out her home room by room for the dog.
The kitchen was divided off by Kasey, and Maggie spent her first night sleeping in her kennel. Actually, Maggie had never touched grass before Kasey took her outside to use the restroom.
Friends who were worried about Maggie questioned Kasey about why she wasn’t killed given her misery. They also enquired as to the dog’s quality of life going forward.
They had other ideas after seeing Maggie in person and how active the dog was.
Kasey remarked, “I’ve never encountered a dog like Maggie. She is simply brilliant. She is so lively and energized. She disengages from the lead and circles behind me.
Despite everything she’s been through, she never hurt anyone and is incredibly caring. She must have been in excruciating pain.
When Kasey had to take over the dog’s social media on a full-time basis after Maggie’s story went viral online, she left her job as a dog walker to do so.
Along with proud Kasey, the wonder dog made an appearance on the This Morning program
Maggie is currently becoming well-known for her work as a therapy dog. She visits the University of Sussex campus twice a week and allows students to walk her.
In order to lift the spirits of the old, she also goes to nursing facilities where they enjoy touching the cute blind dog.
