In a tragic turn of events, former Hong Kong actress Bonnie Lai Suk-yin passed away on Tuesday, December 26. The 46-year-old actress reportedly died by suicide. Her untimely demise was reportedly confirmed by actor ex-husband Kenneth Low, reports The Standard.
The report further stated that Lai fell unconscious after she burned charcoal and was found at her home at Park Belvedere in North Point by her son.
After being rushed to Ruttonjee Hospital, she was pronounced dead. According to reports, the cops have not found any suicide note at her residence and the cause of death will be confirmed since the autopsy is pending. The ‘Young and Dangerous 3’ actress reportedly celebrated Christmas with her family, after which this unfortunate incident took place.
Lai Suk-yin’s last post on Instagram is dated October, it is a picture from the birthday celebration of her son Aston. Posing with him and his birthday cake, she had penned, “Happy birthday to my boy Aston 🥰 #16yearsold #bigboy #loveyou.”
After emerging as a runner-up in Miss Asia Pageant in 1995, Lai Suk-yin featured in Vampire Expert II, Young And Dangerous 3 and Legal Affairs. She tied the knot in 1998 with Kenneth Low and they had two sons. In 2006, they parted ways and in 2007, Lai went on to marry her current husband Angus Hui Chi-ching, a cosmetic surgeon. Lai and Angus Hui Chi-ching had two sons.
