Keith Urban, a well-known country music artist, has made tremendous efforts to raise awareness about prostate cancer. Despite his demanding schedule, Urban took time to attend the “It’s A Bloke Thing” luncheon in Toowoomba, Australia, which promotes and funds prostate cancer research.
Keith Urban’s Individual Relationship
Urban is deeply passionate about the cause of prostate cancer. In December 2015, he lost his father, Robert, to the illness; his grandparents and many uncles were also affected. This personal connection drives Urban’s commitment to actively support the cause and raise awareness.
A record-breaking incident.
The “It’s A Bloke Thing” Foundation has held the luncheon for the past seven years, and it has evolved to become one of Australia’s most prominent daytime fundraising events. In 2017, the community gave more than $1.53 million to the charity. Due in large part to Urban’s participation, the event raised a record $2,024,000.00 this year.
Keith Urban’s Commitment
Urban performed at the Prostate Cancer Awareness/Fundraiser in front of 500 ticketed people, showcasing his dedication to the cause. Urban returned to Australia to give his support, despite the fact that he was on his Graffiti-U World Tour and in the United States.
