Sad look from the kennel – bitch longingly waiting for her to be adopted too

A dog named Chauncey waited alone in her kennel at the Spartanburg Humane Society animal shelter, watching her mates make their way to their new families.

To see the other dogs, the puppy stuck its head through a hole in the bottom of the kennel. It was a very heartbreaking sight.

Chauncey was shy and reserved, which made it difficult for her to find a new home.

“Chauncey is very shy until she meets one. With all the barking and constant activity at the shelter, she just watched the world go by.”

Angel Cox, executive director of the Spartanburg Humane Society, told The Dodo .

The shelter staff comforted her and spent time with her to keep her company. They lovingly cared for her and did not give up hope.

The pup enjoyed being petted and taken for walks by the staff and volunteers.

Everyone knew she could be a great companion and were sad that she had to wait so long.

Despite being returned once before, Chauncey didn’t give up and kept hoping to find family.

Eventually, a family saw a post about Chauncey on Facebook and reached out.

This time, Chauncey showed off her charming and loving personality, and it was immediately clear that she and the family were a perfect match.

She left the shelter with her new family full of happiness.

“We were so happy for them that they found a great home but we always miss them when they leave us. Of course, it’s bittersweet when they’re adopted, but deep down we’re always happy.”
