Cameron Diaz has become a mom for the second time aged 51. She and husband Benji Madden, 45, announced the birth of their son Cardinal Madden on Friday.
The announcement was made through a joint social media post that included a drawing. “A little bird whispered to me,” is written on the drawing. “We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our Son, Cardinal Madden. He is awesome and We are all so happy he is here! For the kid’s safety and privacy, we won’t be posting any pictures- but he’s a really cute. We are feeling so blessed and grateful. Sending much love from our family to yours. Best wishes and Good Afternoon!!
Diaz and Madden tied the knot in 2015 and share daughter Raddix together.
The post was showered with love and support from fans and friends alike, with Katy Perry writing: ‘Another Earth angel’, and Benji’s brothers Joel and Josh posting a series of hearts.
They won’t be sharing any photos of the baby, just like didn’t share any of their daughter, because they are notoriously private about their children.
The Charlie’s Angels star opened up about motherhood in the past, and most recently, she spoke about how becoming a mother has changed her perception of aging, during an interview with Gwyneth Paltrow for Goop’s podcast. “It’s totally opened up, I’m excited,” Cameron said. “I’ve got 50 or 60 years to go—I want to live to be 110, since I’ve got a young child. I think you have this amazing moment in your 40s where you appreciate who your parents are, and I want to have that moment with her—be there with her in her 40s.”
Fans were quick to share their congratulations, but there were also those who criticized the actress for giving birth at such age.
