In an interview with CBN, FULL HOUSE actress Candace Cameron Bure opened up about her movie, A CHRISTMAS… PRESENT, and its importance in her life. A CHRISTMAS … PRESENT won a Movieguide® Award for its strong faith themes.
Bure explained that she felt hesitant to make faith-based movies because she wanted to make sure that they’re done well.
“I want to do them in a way that’s relatable and where people can see themselves in them, and that’s not heavy-handed,” Bure said. “And so this movie’s so important to me because it really is the first one that I’ve done and you know, I think we got it right in this movie.”
The former Hallmark Channel actress participated in a lot of Christmas movies, both on screen and behind the scenes. But A CHRISTMAS … PRESENT is her first Christmas movie that openly talks about God.
“’The biggest theme that is most important to me in this film is the theme of God in our lives and the Christian faith,’ she explained. ‘This is a Christmas movie that actually talks about Christ. And that’s another major theme that I have that I’ve never been able to talk about at length in my Christmas films,’” Movieguide® previously reported.

The actress stars as Maggie, a Type-A real estate agent who takes her family to spend the holidays with her widowed brother and his daughter. The siblings have very different ideas about how to spend Christmas and, after ‘a series of transformative events,’ Maggie learns the true meaning of Christmas.
In a statement about the upcoming movie, Bure shared, ‘A CHRISTMAS…PRESENT is about slowing down enough to recognize what’s right in front of our eyes. The hustle and bustle of the Christmas season will arrive before we know it but it’s through the quiet moments that we hear God speak to us, directing our path to what’s most important.’
