The unfortunate truth is that suicide is becoming all too common in modern-day America.
Now, the news is that 35-year-old model Jeff Thomas has apparently committed suicide. Thomas went to visit his beloved grandmother before he “leaped to his death” from a high-rise building. Thomas previously visited the Miami high-rise building where he posed with actor Megan Fox for a photo opportunity.
Although the official cause of death has yet to be released since an autopsy is pending, Thomas’s body was found on the ground outside of the Miami apartment complex on March 8. A police report obtained by Daily Mail found that police were called to an apparent suicide after people found Thomas’s body crushed on the ground after he fell from the high-rise building onto the sidewalk below.
Prior to his death, Thomas has accumulated a large following on Instagram, with more than 120,000 followers on the American-owned platform. He also spent his time mingling with celebrities like Megan Fox in the months before he died from falling at 4:12 pm on March 8, 2023.
When medical professionals arrived on the scene, they pronounced Thomas dead. Many witnesses were outside of the building after the model fell to his death because animal control had been called to the scene to retrieve a dog that was left behind in the apartment.
Thomas lived in the luxury high-rise apartment building in Miami’s Brickell Avenue neighborhood. The condo building is located along the water and has fifty-seven floors. Located close to the trendy downtown area of Miami, the building also has views of the Miami River.
Friends and family were devastated by Thomas’s apparent suicide. They never saw it coming. One friend, David Kent Tomlinson, shared a photo of Thomas along with a message that said, “I love you. I’ll miss you. I’ll see you again.”
Only three days before he fell to his death from the Miami high-rise building, Thomas posted on social media about how he made a visit to his beloved grandmother at her home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He admitted that the visit to his grandmother came at a very busy time in his life.
The social media post included an image of Thomas with his arms wrapped around his grandmother.
“Surprising my very special Grandma after her two-week cruise from California to Florida with her friend, Beverly. Her dear friend decided to take my beloved Grandma on the cruise after originally planning to go with her recent husband, who passed away during the pandemic,” he wrote. “It was a process to do it all after finagling my hectic workday/week, the start of my EMT classes, getting a flat tire, moving into my new home, and my transition moving from Los Angeles to Miami. However, somehow I make it work for those that I love, deserve it, and appreciate those efforts since they do the same for me.”
In addition to his work as a model, Thomas was an aspiring firefighter and was taking EMT classes.
