The young lady’s family confirmed Aubrey Wilson was dead at the age of 22 to InTouch Weekly. It was her grandmother, Robin Waters, who issued a statement to the media outlet. Aubrey’s grandmother admitted that normally she’s a very private person. While she was absolutely devastated by the loss of her grandmother, she wanted people to know what happened. Robin explained that she hoped people in a similar situation could find comfort in Aubrey’s story.
“I want all the people who loved her to find some comfort in the fact that she is at peace. And maybe it could help someone else who is in that position.”
Aubrey Wilson of Girls Incarcerated: Young and Locked Up passed away. Despite being just 22 years old, Aubrey had spent a chunk of her life struggling with an addiction to drugs. Her grandmother tells that Aubrey Wilson’s cause of death hasn’t been officially confirmed. Robin, however, suspects her granddaughter’s cause of death was related to a heroin or fentanyl overdose.
Aubrey Wilson made her TV debut during the first season of a docuseries called Girls Incarcerated. The docuseries premiered on Netflix back in March of 2018. In total, the docuseries ran for two seasons before coming to an end in June 2019. The docuseries followed the stories of teenage inmates who were locked up at the Madison Juvenile Correctional Facility in Indiana.
In total, Aubrey Wilson was behind bars for nine months. She also completed the substance abuse program. Just weeks after being released from the correctional facility, however, she ran away. Viewers of the show will recall Aubrey and her mother Holly had a difficult relationship. Her mother also struggled with drug addiction. According to Robin, Aubrey’s mother passed away just a year prior. Her cause of death was determined to be a drug overdose.
Unfortunately, there hasn’t been much of an update regarding where Aubrey Wilson was now or what she did after the show concluded. Back in 2020, she did post tons of selfies on her profile. Sadly, she did not include many updates about her life in the past few years.
