A passenger bus traveling along Highway 57 near kilometer 68 in the Hermanas–Sabinas area overturned early
Wednesday morning, killing at least one person and injuring several others. The bus, identified as unit 9132, was en route from Ciudad Acuña to Gómez Palacio, Durango, when it lost control and crashed.
Among the injured is a child named Jairo, who is in critical condition at IMSS Clinic 7 in Monclova. Doctors have described his state as delicate, and his family remains anxiously by his side. At least five other passengers were hurt, with injuries ranging in severity.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash, collecting evidence at the scene and interviewing survivors. Families of passengers have begun arriving at nearby hospitals, searching for information and hoping for positive updates amid the uncertainty.
The incident follows another crash in the region the previous night on the Gómez Palacio–Cuencamé Highway, where a vehicle struck a light pole and overturned. Together, the accidents have heightened concern across Coahuila and Durango, underscoring the risks of overnight travel and leaving communities waiting for answers—and relief.
