Stephanie Bissonnette, a choreographer, dancer, and teacher who played high school student Dawn Schweitzer in the Mean Girls musical, died on Dec. 18 at the age of 32.
The Mean Girls on Broadway Twitter account confirmed her death on Sunday. She had been diagnosed with brain cancer in 2019 and underwent surgery before returning to work on Mean Girls until its COVID-related closure, according to Playbill.
She was featured in the 2022 documentary Ensemble, which focused on Broadway dancers in the wake of the pandemic. Bissonnette, who taught at the Broadway Dance Center, also appeared in the music video for Keith Urban’s “Never Comin Down.”
